Salden is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This policy outlines what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

Email Address: Used to authenticate your account and communicate with you.
Expense Data: Transactions, amounts, categories, dates, and titles you enter in the app.
Voice Recordings: When you use the voice input feature, audio is temporarily recorded and processed to transcribe and categorize your expense. Audio is not stored permanently.
Device and Usage Data: Collected automatically by analytics and crash reporting services (device model, OS version, app usage patterns, crash logs).
Purchase Information: Subscription status and transaction data processed by RevenueCat.

2. How We Use Your Data

To authenticate and manage your account.
To provide and personalize the expense tracking experience.
To transcribe and automatically categorize expenses entered by voice using AI.
To improve app stability and fix bugs through crash reporting.
To analyze usage patterns and improve features.
To process subscription purchases and manage access to premium features.
To serve relevant ads via AdMob (free tier users only).

3. Voice Data

When you use the voice input feature, your audio is sent to OpenAI's API for transcription and categorization. The audio is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers. Please refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle audio data.

4. Google User Data

When you sign in with Google, we receive the following data from your Google account:

Email address: Used solely to identify and authenticate your account in Salden.
Profile name: Used to personalize the in-app experience.
Google account identifier (UID): Used internally to associate your account with your data in Firebase.

How we use Google data: This information is used exclusively for authentication and account management. It is not used for advertising or profiling, and is not shared with any third parties beyond Firebase Authentication (a Google service).

Storage: Your Google account data is stored securely in Firebase Authentication. We do not store your Google password or any access tokens beyond what is required to maintain an active session.

Revoking access: You can revoke Salden's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. Cloud Storage

All expense data entered in the app is automatically stored in the cloud via Firebase Firestore, regardless of subscription status.

6. Third-Party Services

Firebase (Google): Authentication, cloud data storage, crash reporting (Crashlytics), and usage analytics. Privacy Policy

We use appropriate technical measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your data from unauthorized access.

10. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request permanent deletion at any time.

11. Children's Privacy

Salden is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
