Salden is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This policy outlines what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
- Email Address: Used to authenticate your account and communicate with you.
- Expense Data: Transactions, amounts, categories, dates, and titles you enter in the app.
- Voice Recordings: When you use the voice input feature, audio is temporarily recorded and processed to transcribe and categorize your expense. Audio is not stored permanently.
- Aggregated Financial Data for AI Analysis: When you use the AI financial analysis or AI analyst features, aggregated financial data is sent to OpenAI. This includes expense and income totals, transaction amounts, categories, titles, dates, and spending patterns. No personally identifying information (such as your name or email) is included.
- Device and Usage Data: Collected automatically by analytics and crash reporting services (device model, OS version, app usage patterns, crash logs).
- Purchase Information: Subscription status and transaction data processed by RevenueCat.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate and manage your account.
- To provide and personalize the expense tracking experience.
- To transcribe and automatically categorize expenses entered by voice using AI.
- To generate AI-powered financial analyses and spending personality reports based on your aggregated expense data, with your explicit consent.
- To improve app stability and fix bugs through crash reporting.
- To analyze usage patterns and improve features.
- To process subscription purchases and manage access to premium features.
- To serve relevant ads via AdMob (free tier users only).
3. AI-Powered Features
3a. Voice Input
When you use the voice input feature, your audio is sent to OpenAI's API for transcription and categorization. The audio is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers. Please refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle audio data.
3b. AI Financial Analysis and AI Analyst
When you choose to use the AI financial analysis or AI analyst ("Tu Analista") features, aggregated financial data derived from your expense records is sent to OpenAI's API via our secure Firebase Cloud Functions. This data includes:
- Expense and income totals and averages
- Transaction amounts, categories, and titles
- Spending patterns by date and day of week
- Category breakdowns and period-over-period comparisons
This data does not include your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information. You will be asked for explicit permission before any financial data is sent for AI analysis. OpenAI processes this data solely to generate the analysis result and does not use it to train its models. Results are cached locally on your device and are not shared with other users. 4. Google User Data
When you sign in with Google, we receive the following data from your Google account:
- Email address: Used solely to identify and authenticate your account in Salden.
- Profile name: Used to personalize the in-app experience.
- Google account identifier (UID): Used internally to associate your account with your data in Firebase.
How we use Google data: This information is used exclusively for authentication and account management. It is not used for advertising or profiling, and is not shared with any third parties beyond Firebase Authentication (a Google service).
Storage: Your Google account data is stored securely in Firebase Authentication. We do not store your Google password or any access tokens beyond what is required to maintain an active session.
Revoking access: You can revoke Salden's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
5. Cloud Storage
All expense data entered in the app is automatically stored in the cloud via Firebase Firestore, regardless of subscription status.
6. Third-Party Services
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, cloud data storage, crash reporting (Crashlytics), and usage analytics. Privacy Policy

- AdMob (Google): Displays advertisements to free-tier users. May collect device identifiers for ad personalization. Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscriptions and purchase verification. Privacy Policy

7. Data Sharing
We share data with third-party services only as necessary to provide the app's functionality, as described above. We never sell your personal information.
8. Access and Deletion of Your Data
You may request access to, modification of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us via email.
9. Data Security
We use appropriate technical measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your data from unauthorized access.
10. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request permanent deletion at any time.
11. Children's Privacy
Salden is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. You will be notified of material changes through the app or by email.
